As a community based club built on volunteers we survive primarily due to our sponsors. Our aim is to offer the opportunity to the local community to play sport. Our primary focus is cricket but we also have links to Blackburn Road Runners and their netball team. The venue is widely used by the local community both for sport and pleasure. Local schools including Saint Wilfrids host their games here as often due Blackburn Schools Cricket. Through the year fund raising events are held for charities such as Mind and Fight like a kid.
On the cricket side we start at under 8’s mixed junior teams covering all age groups up to under 18’s, then senior cricket which is made up of 4 teams playing in the Ribblesdale league. We have also introduced specialist development coaching for females both Juniors and seniors. We have also recently hosted Prosecco cricket for all female teams which turned out to be a great success. The development and coaching is carried out by volunteers giving up their free time. With high costs constantly increasing we survive from the support of sponsors.
