Contracts have been signed and WORLD LASHINGS XI will be playing at Cherry Tree on Friday 26th June 2020. HENRY BLOFELD has also been signed up to commentate live on the day! The Lashings are known as the Harlem Globetrotters of cricket and players such as Ryan Sidebottom, Chris Lewis, Neil Fairbrother and a team of ex International Test Cricketers will play a T20 against Cherry Tree CC.
On the morning of the match they will hold a Junior Training Session for our youngsters at the Club followed by a hospitality lunch with all the players and officials in attendance.
We will be erecting a marquee on the top car park to hold 300 people for the lunch, you can reserve a place or table by contacting demand will be high so bookings taking strictly on a first come first served basis. There will be 30 tables of 10 to be reserved from next week. The T20 match will start at 5pm.
In the press release Chairman Dan Logan said ‘this will be the biggest day in Cherry Tree CC’s history. To have some of the finest crickets ever to play the game at Cherry Tree seems unreal and it’s a great event for the whole community. And having the one and only Henry Blofeld to MC the day is the icing on the cake.’ First team captain, Mark Hadfield, said ‘I can’t quite believe that a who’s who of my cricketing heroes will be playing at my Club! This will be inspirational for our Junior and Senior players to rub shoulders with the Lashings Stars’.
